WuDou Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture - COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

5 June 2020

We are adhering to the government and British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) guidelines. We are adopting Phase 4 Urgent Care and Phase 3 Urgent Care & High Need in our clinic and will be implementing the following:

Before Booking

  • As part of the screening process, before your appointment, we ask that you let us know if you or anyone in your household has had Covid-19 symptoms in the past two weeks.

  • Please do not attend the clinic if any of our client or a member of their household/support bubble have symptoms of coronavirus.

  • All clients will have to fill in a COVID-19 screening and consent form as part of the support to NHS Test and Trace system.

Bookings and social distancing:

  • We will book you into our diary and send you a confirmation text or email.

  • We are staggering appointments to reduce the close contact among clients.

  • Practitioner and client will respect social distancing during consultation.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Please wear a face covering for your appointment.

  • Practitioners will be wearing face mask.

  • Practitioners will be wearing disposable plastic aprons and gloves if necessary.

Arriving for your Appointment

  • Please attend alone and to avoid waiting at the reception area, please come on time for your appointment.

  • Travel light and bring the minimum possible with you.

  • Please bring your own towel if you get cold or need to be covered during your treatment.

  • When you enter the clinic, please wash your hands or use alcohol based hand sanitizer, and your practitioner will show you through.

Cleaning, Hygiene & Ventilation:

  • We will be cleaning and airing the room between every appointment.

  • All soft furnishings and linens have been removed. All equipment can now be wiped clean or is disposable.

  • Windows will be open as long as possible during the sessions.

  • Anti-bacterial / viral spray will be used to wipe down chairs, tables and door handles before and after treatments.

We cannot offer face to face appointments to anyone who answers yes to the following questions:

In the last seven days:

1. Have you had a high temperature? (this can mean feeling hot to touch on your chest and back - you do not need to measure your temperature)

2. Have you had a new continuous cough? (this means coughing a lot for more than an hour or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours - if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

3. Have you lost sensations of taste or smell?

4. Have you had close contact (under 2 metres) with anyone with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis or someone exhibiting the above three symptoms in the last 14 days?

5. Do you fall under the clinically extremely vulnerable category as defined below?

6. Have you been instructed by the government to quarantine?

7. Have you been contacted by the government and told to self-isolate for any reason?

In each of those cases, you would have been advised to self-isolate by the NHS, and we would be able to see you at the end of the isolation period.

However, we are offering telephone and/or VOIP consultations for Chinese herbal prescriptions to support clients.
